our vision

The vision of Art for the Nations began in 1992 when founder Lisa Ambler sat in the dirt in an impoverished area of Juarez, Mexico, and did simple art projects with the enthusiastic children of that neighborhood. She quickly realized that few children enjoy the luxury of being an artist. "Being an artist for over 50 years, painting or making something most every day of my life, I know the joy of creating!"

She began packaging bags of art supplies with encouraging scriptures for local teams to carry with them on service and mission trips. Word spread quickly, and bags are picked up at our space in Denver and shipped across the United States to be carried all over the world. Lisa says, "I realized that crayons, paper, scissors, glue, glitter, and sequins transcend all language barriers, especially glitter and sequins!"

YOU MATTER!

Did you know that you are an integral part of what we do at Art for the Nations?

Our art bag assembly team:  You!  Our distribution method:  You!  Our marketing plan:  You!

Art for the Nations became an official nonprofit in 2004. Between then and December 2023,

we have given 26,761 bags of art supplies to our Bag Takers!

That is enough for 1,338,050 children to enjoy creating their own works of art!

Thank you for all you do!
